Volume 3 Issue 2 is here!

Welcome to another issue of the Barnacle!

Getting politicians to speak to the media has always been difficult. Even in the most recent municipal and provincial elections, the Barnacle was met with slow or non-response from candidates, as we tried to amass information on policies and positions for voters.

It’s another game entirely, to try and get government agencies and departments to speak to the media.

Now, Communications Nova Scotia (CNS) is being dissolved. It will surely become even harder for Nova Scotians to get non-partisan information about the policies, projects and direction of the Houston government.

CNS was formed over 30 years ago to “ensure that government communications are timely, accurate, effective, factual and respectful, objective and non-partisan.”

This is yet another void that the Barnacle is trying to fill. Help us step up to the plate, to ensure Lunenburg County-ites are connected and informed on the decisions that will affect them most.

You can listen to the Barnacle!

Each month host Sienna Maeba reads the issue cover to cover. This is a great way to get all the Barnacle has to offer but in an easy to listen to format while on your daily commute, cooking dinner or winding down after a long day. Subscribe on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. (note: new episodes release 3-4 days after a print issue launch)
