We love our illustrators. The Barnacle wouldn’t be the same without the artwork of our extremely talented neighbors and friends. We would love for you to join us!
How does it work?
A couple weeks before print, we send out some stories that are being written that we would like an illustration for. Otherwise, it is up to you to decide how to interpret an image that might suit the story!
Please contact editor@thebarnacle.ca, and we will add you to our contributor list.
Guidance for illustration submission:
Create an illustration that would look good in black and white.
You may create the illustration in color for the website, but we may edit the contrast etc. so that the illustration shines in print.
1:1, 3:4, or 4:3 dimensions are best.
We post these illustrations on Instagram, so Instagram post proportions look best.
