Fourteen members of the Mahone Bay Printmakers (MBP) will be coming together at the Lunenburg Art Gallery to brighten your December days.
“Torn Edges: A Celebration of the Printmakers’ Art” is an exhibition and sale
showcasing some of the many different types of printmaking that are happening on Nova Scotia’s South Shore: linocut, wood engraving, etching, collagraph, drypoint, monotype, mezzotint, and polymer photogravure. There will be an educational panel explaining all of these techniques, and both framed and unframed works for sale. Astute Barnacle readers may even notice some of the original linocut prints that premiered in Katherine Barrett’s “Wild Talk” column this past year.
Please join us for food and cheer at the opening reception on December 2, from 3 – 6 p.m. or come by any day that week that needs brightening. There will also be a “Meet the Printmakers” event on Saturday, December 6, from 3 – 5 p.m. with presentations by the artists on the techniques used to create their prints.
The exhibition will be at the Lunenburg Art Gallery Dec. 2 – 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is free. More info at facebook.com/MahoneBayPrintmakers
