TAC Returns to Lunenburg with “Perceptions” – A Showcase of Contemporary Textile Art

Pamela Wells, TAC member

The Textile Artist’s Collective of Nova Scotia (TAC) makes a return to the South Shore with their much anticipated sixth exhibition, Perceptions. From Nov. 4 to 16, the Lunenburg Art Gallery will be transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour, texture and imagination, featuring an extraordinary collection of contemporary textile art.

TAC is a group of 12 accomplished textile artists from across Nova Scotia, four being from Lunenburg County, with many members having shown at juried exhibitions both nationally and internationally.  Each artist brings a distinctive voice to the collective, combining fabric, paint, dye, print and often surprising materials to craft works that challenge convention and celebrate creativity.

Visitors to Perceptions will encounter a display of textile art, ranging in size, technique and thematic depth. From bold abstract compositions to intricate narrative scenes, each piece is a window into the artist’s personal vision. The exhibit also includes a selection of smaller framed works, sculptural pieces, prints and art cards – offering something for every taste and interest.

Whether you are a seasoned art lover or simply curious, Perceptions promises a feast for the senses and a celebration of Nova Scotia’s rich artistic spirit.

Gallery hours: Tuesday, Nov. 4 until Sunday, Nov. 16 .: Open from 11am – 4pm.
