Volume 1, Issue 10 has arrived!

We’ve rounded up a comprehensive (though most likely not exhaustive) list of holiday happenings in Lunenburg County for you to pin up on your fridge.

When you put them all together, you realize how lucky we are to have enough creators, artists and makers in our area to fill markets every weekend from now until the wrapping season wraps up. Use the list to make your game plan to hit as many markets and parades as possible.

If you’re stuck on what gift you should pick up while browsing, make sure you take this month’s quiz, “Which local holiday market gift should you seek?”, to see if you’re more of a hand-painted chocolate from Ploughman’s Lunch girly or Cedarwood and Patchouli Seaweed Soap kinda guy.

We’ve decided to make a little holiday gift of our own. Last month we made a big call to readers to help support our work with a monthly donation. Many of you answered the call – thank you! If a monthly donation isn’t available to you, you’re also able to support our work by purchasing a 2024 Barnacle Calendar.

The calendars feature all your favourite illustrations from Volume 1 of The Lunenburg Barnacle, all drawn by the wonderful Jessie Mclaughlin and put together by our talented Layout Editor Carmen Cumming. All profits will help offset print costs and create an illustration stipend.

Calendars are only $30 and details on how to purchase can be found on our website. Visit the shop to place your pre-order before November 16th!
