Marine Traffic shows that local sailmaker Michele Stevens and Al Mosher have arrived safely in the Caribbean islands on their sailboat Easy Listening.
Fruition, an 80’ Kanter-built ketch, headed south from Old Town Boatworks on Nov 25. Making great time, she showed speeds of 9-11 knots sailing to Bermuda. They have now safely made it to Antigua.
Old Town Boatworks employed the big crane from Veinotte’s to haul yachts and wharfs at the end of November. Winter is coming!
Lunenburg Shipyard has partnered with boatbuilder Andrew Rhodenizer and the Big Boat Shed team to construct a traditional-inspired wooden boat that honours the region’s iconic fishing vessels.
Tern Boatworks began work finishing a 48’ schooner in their LaHave shop. They’ll be rebuilding the deck structure and cabin houses, designing and building a rig, completing the interior, adding external ballast, redesigning the sternpost and rudder, and installing the engine and systems.

While I enjoy all the news reported here, I really appreciate that you have the Shipping News. It’s more difficult in modern day to say that we have a working waterfront when no one really knows what happens there unless you are involved. This helps to keep everyone plugged in and sharing. As well it keeps it real vs a made up Disney version.
