Our feelings speak the truth, whereas our words do not –
Remember to sing into the ears of your loved ones, turn to face the wind, laugh so they can hear you and dance around the maypole in spring – Life is a relentless abomination if you refuse to capture the whims of time! The frays! The extras! The scraps! The outsides! Your Princess promises mirth and resilience this year. Mankind could not be held by Aaragorn alone, though you know he would certainly try his passionate best with relentless sacrifice – alas, he needs fellowship. Let us look bravely into the Mirror of Galadriel this dry, cold January and fear not for that which may not yet come to pass. At this moment, I channel while seated in a chair, listening to a record I love. I’ve pulled the four of cups to remind us that love and happiness must first be noticed before accepted. I give you my Sun summary of the year ahead –

Aries – Ancient civilizations braved the harshest conditions to preserve the life of their women and young. The ‘nuclear family’ of Neolithic times was a passionate group of firestarters set in blood thirsty aim to keep the babies alive. Evolution would suggest that you still maintain some of that very DNA. Be honest and positive around the ears of children when you speak this summer as the heat of adulthood could drive you mad – do it for comfort’s sake and talk with everyone as though they could be a hot, sweaty, sand-scratched child strapped to the back seat of a car at the end of a long, happy beach day. Confident but closed. Validated but volatile.

Taurus – Nice work, buddy boy! I wouldn’t say we are living in “lavish” times, depending on who’s asking, but you’re really getting through it either way. I’m sure you’ve noticed a real lack of ‘good design’ on earth lately and that is particularly hard on your constitution. A few well deserved comforts will mark the year, I sense something with food. Or ease in creation. Most importantly, pat yourself on the back for a job well done, for all that you’ve absorbed and for all you’ve transformed through in years past.

Gemini – adopt a ‘witches spring’ to counter the energy of this – the year of the horse. Be as mysterious as possible. If you are hungry: this summer will unleash a beast of revolution so juicy and irresistible you will need to garner your strength. Read, sleep, eat, laugh, drink, kiss, hug, cry, collapse on the floor. Repeat this in January, February and March and you will be firing on all corners by June. If you are hidden: Imagine if you had one person that would let you talk and talk and talk and talk and talk with absolutely no bias or judgement and in (almost) excruciatingly equal ratios of focus, attention and devotional interest. Someone who would stand across from you in a rain storm and not notice a single drop as they soaked in every word you said with corresponding follow-up questions. What would you want to talk about?

Cancer – Decor, garbage, trinkets, talisman, what does it all mean? My theories this year include suggestions to keep visual reminders in places you spend quiet time (otherwise you may not notice them) – reminders that keep you close to the memories where you felt completely tied to an integrity or soul. If impulsiveness is a problem, leave yourself a gift by the door that reminds you of a time you impulsively acted in strength reinforced by your core values. Let yourself remember the bliss of that power on a daily basis. Respect and understanding for our past helps us make peace amidst the unfolding future.

Leo – You are as smart as you think you are, but, unfortunately, tact relies on intellect. The wise only “speak of what they know”, right? “Better to be thought a fool than speak and remove all doubt” – that sort of thing. You are simply too cunning to rely on bad tact. Try to keep most of your bad tact hidden or at least, generously poetic, this year. Make it a victimless game.

Virgo – You are (always) needed! Time to speak, time to act. Put those systems you love into action – ask for forgiveness later. Virgos are blessed with conceptual powers in all points on the chart and this will surely be the year to experiment with delegation. Never forget that delegating or leading is a completely separate skill from doing the actual work and requires a cup runneth over with patience and curiosity to do well!

Libra – If balance could be achieved at all times we wouldn’t need a name for it – for everything would “already be so”. I know you kids love to balance things and make it your devotional sport but “things” can often balance on their own and perhaps you can let them. Take notes on what you see. Write down the details of new experiences this year, no matter how small. Observe balance as though it already is.

Scorpio – My independent brethren. You know you are beloved. Most of us can only dream to feel the world the way that you do in waking hours. Let this year pass by in a beloved dream, for you are ever capable of noticing things that way.

Sagittarius – All who have the energy for a little razzle dazzle – I call upon you to “give em the ol one two” and blow smoke rings to the Kings we all play jester for. Bring your most silly goose wit, for a jester has impunity to jest even the most “unjestable” truths. So long as they are in fact true! Hot tip: everyone loves a silly goose who knows when to send the goose home.
And if you must lay down your sword at any time, remember to keep the blade sharp – read, sleep, think, relax, drink clear liquid, call a friend, avoid self pity.

Capricorn – Somewhere on the wind, several times this year, tides will change and you will start to love poetry again and look at the world through the lens most natural to you – shrewd, clear, objective and true. Clairvoyance could be possible, maybe even creation. Though creation is not necessary if you have something that already needs your time and attention to grow. You work so hard and are loved for that! Hold time for observation and lore.

Aquarius – It is your time now.

Pisces – Anxiety is both a driving tool for repair or distress and we manipulate it as a psychological emotion to survive! Sometimes anxiety can make you combative in a conversation, or retreat into tears. It can also prepare you to pay attention and really listen with curiosity and genuine interest. It can help you have the guts to ask questions and actually absorb the answers. It can help you speak in public! Your goal this year could be to give more time to pondering the ‘kind’ of fear your body responds to versus the fear your thoughts can create. Bask in understanding before you react.
