Like her namesake on the classic 90s sitcom Friends, Phoebe is sweet, funny and beautiful, all while remaining firmly rooted in her own world. This 4-year-old, long-haired Chihuahua from Barss Corner joined Lauren’s family as a puppy in the spring of 2021 and is the apple of her mom’s eye.
While overjoyed to see her loved ones, Phoebe is a vocal skeptic of strangers, alerting everyone to their presence. Lauren, having grown up with chihuahuas, appreciates their personalities and portability for travel, yet Phoebe is truly a Nova Scotian gal. She enjoys summer days out on the water, her maiden voyage being on her friend Annie’s boat SV Noodle and despite her diminutive stature, she delights in winter snow.
Her favorite pastime is chasing deer, relishing in the recognition of her dominance. However she did once befriend a deer (promptly named Rachel Green) who returned for several days of playful chases in the yard.
Phoebe enjoys a close circle of human girlfriends she shares with her mom and she has a special bond with her guy, Simon. However, she is definitely a “dog’s dog,” with a range of canine friendships like those with Loki and Lance.
Her one true love is Bubba Fisher, a large black dog nearly two feet taller than her! She also has a taste for life’s little luxuries, such as enjoying mani/pedis while indulging in liver treats. She answers to “Phoebs,” “Phoebster,” and, most recently, “Phoebenacci Sequins.”
