It’s spooky season, witches, which means tea by the fire, all the candles and Practical Magic on repeat. Here are some other fun ways to stir up some magic this October.
- Cast a spell. Here’s the cool thing: spells are all about intention, less about the specific herb or coloured candle. Create your spell by writing down a wish, burning it, burying it or sending it out on the breeze while visualizing it come to be and repeating a rhyme three times, ending with “so mote it be.”
- Get crafty. Witches love a good DIY, especially one that smells good. Check out recipes online for room sprays or salves. This is also a fun season to make your own broom. Forage for the perfect handle and pull together twigs, feathers or anything else for the broom itself.
- Change your vibration. Release any stale energy from the past season with movement by welcoming in the autumn air with open windows and a perfectly curated playlist. Dance it out to “Season of the Witch” (or anything Stevie Nicks) and feel that fall frequency roll into your home.
- Speaking of your home, now is the time to take care of it. With shorter and cooler days ahead, you’ll be spending more time with her. Talk to your home, get really still and ask what she needs. Add autumn decor, bake something soul-warming and sprinkle a ring of salt around your home for protection.
Work with the moon. The full supermoon is Oct. 6, and the new moon is the 21st. Both are great chances to cast your spell, manifest and release. Or simply make a point to get outside every night this month and watch how the moon phases change.
Happy Witching!
