Peace and Friendship Treaty Backpack Celebration

“South Shore Public Libraries announced the launch of Peace & Friendship Treaty Packs in conjunction with a greatly expanded Mi’kmaq Language Collection today. The Peace and Friendship Treaty Packs are backpacks filled with books written by Mi’kmaw authors and are about Mi’kmaq culture, people, stories, language, traditions, and more. The Packs will be launched at a celebration event on June 16 at 10:30 am at the Margaret Hennigar Public Library in Bridgewater. Everyone is invited to the celebration which includes an author presentation, hands on activity, and refreshments.”
