DESCRIPTION:(Please note that there are two performances for this show; there is a kids’ show at 10:45am and an adults show at 8:00pm.)“Returning to Riverport after his sold-out show last summer is singer-songwriter Mat Hughes! \n\n\n\nKnown for his earnest and introspective songwriting\, Mat captivates listeners with his distinctive piano-driven folk melodies. His high-energy\, percussive piano style is a driving force that creates an immersive musical experience. Behind the piano\, Mat creates an intimate connection with his audiences through his witty\, relatable\, and often existentialist lyrics. Mat recently moved home to Nova Scotia after a long stint on the West Coast. His debut EP ‘The Foreseeable Future’ was released in May\, 2023. \n\n\n\nMat joins us for TWO shows on January 20th! Kids and families are invited to join us at 10:45 am for our family-friendly show. Then\, adults can come at 8 pm for the full concert experience!

DESCRIPTION:“Musique Royale invites you to hear the enigmatic and soulful original songs of Doug Tielli\, in concert Saturday January 20th at 3 pm\, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mahone Bay. Doug will be joined by saxophonist Nicola Miller and bassist Nick D’Amato. \n\n\n\nDoug Tielli is a fixture of southern Ontario’s music scene\, contributing his multi-instrumental abilities (voice\, trombone\, guitar\, banjo\, keyboards\, and more)\, within the many musical spheres including songwriting\, jazz\, pop\, country\, free-improvisation\, composition\, and sound-art. Since 2011\, Tielli has released five solo recordings: “swan sky sea squirrel”\, “Keresley”\, “Truth and Elseness”\, “Reflection Affection (1)” and “(2)”. He has toured Canada\, the US\, the UK\, and Europe.”
