A family-friendly program of two pieces\, each brings a different story through the art of Indigenous hoop dancing\, ballet\, and contemporary dance. \n\n\n\nThe two works are Bears Stars and Trees and Trickster’s Romeo and Juliet. \n\n\n\nBears Stars and Trees:When nature is injured\, the wisdom of the seven teachings brings hope for the future. This work is the result of a collaboration between contemporary and Indigenous artists\, a meeting ground with Ballet and traditional Indigenous hoop dance. \n\n\n\nBears Stars and Trees is a unique work that started in 2016\, guided by Elder Shirely Horn\, and created with a team of Indigenous and Western-tradition artists.

DESCRIPTION:We invite you to view and enjoy Textiles Reimagined\, an upcoming show of work by the 12-member Textile Artists Collective of Nova Scotia (TAC). This unique exploration of contemporary textile art will be on display at the Lunenburg Art Gallery from November 5th until the 9th. ​ The exhibition will feature dozens of vibrant textile art quilts as well as smaller framed works\, art cards\, prints\, jewelry and sculptural objects. This will be TAC’s fifth show. Previous exhibitions have been held in Wolfville\, Inverness\, Dartmouth and Halifax. Textiles Reimagined promises to be our most exciting yet! We hope you can join us.
