Join us for the all-day Up!Skilling Festival: Feed | Build | Repair at the Mahone Bay Centre, Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. Want to learn how to save money, be more resilient and build relationships with your neighbours? Come on out! The Festival is jointly hosted by Transition Bay and the Town of Mahone Bay. Come and learn from 20 to 25 Skillers – each teaching a valuable craft, skill or trade. Confirmed Skillers: Ropework, knots and splicing Sewing Fermentation Living sustainably Upholstery and fabric repair Hot water bath canning Writing & authoring for re-imagining and healing Homesharing Macrobiotic gardening by moon signs Bicycle repair E-bike learning and demos Baking – two simple loaves of bread Food forest & permaculture: roots, soil health, biomass relationships Mending Registration opens at 8:30am. Classes begin at 9:30am.
